$54 million allocated to fight coronavirus in Alma-Ata
The Social Health Insurance Fund (FSMS) allocated 159 billion tenge ($373 million) for the fight against coronavirus. This was announced on September 24 by the director of the Almaty branch of the fund Tleukhan Abildaev, the Kazinform agency reports. He specified that residents of Kazakhstan receive medical care free of charge for COVID-19 disease and pneumonia. Abiladev said that 22.9 billion tenge ($53.7 million) was allocated to fight coronavirus in Alma-Ata. According to the news agency, on September 24, the Chairman of the Board of the FSMS Bolat Tokezhaev said that from March to August the fund paid medical workers allowances in the amount of 73.7 billion tenge ($173 million).
