WHO did not receive official information from Russia on the vaccine from COVID-19
The World Health Organization (WHO) has not yet received official information about the coronavirus vaccine, which can be registered in Russia in the near future. This was stated at a briefing on August 4 by WHO representative Christian Lindmeier. According to him, the organization saw media reports about the development and testing of a Russian vaccine, but did not see any official data on this subject. If something was official, our colleagues from the WHO Regional Office for Europe would certainly look at what we are talking about, Lindmeier said. Recall, a little earlier, a representative of the WHO said that the organization expects Russia to comply with all safety standards in preparation for the production and use of COVID-19 vaccine. Lindmeier recalled that WHO had established guidelines and regulations for the development of vaccines and medicines to be followed by all member countries of the organization. Recall, earlier on the eve of the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev said that the vaccine against coronavirus should be registered in Russia within ten days. Thus, the Russian vaccine may become the first registered drug for COVID-19 in the world.
