New Jersey appoints Lindy Ruff as head coach
The New Jersey Devils National Hockey League club announced the appointment of a new head coach. According to the Devils press service, the next season the team will begin under the leadership of 60-year-old specialist Lindy Raff, who replaced Alain Nasreddin. Raffi is best known for working with Buffalo Sabres, under his leadership, the club regularly entered the playoffs from 1997 to 2013, and in 2007 the clinches won the Presidents Trophy, gaining the most points in the regular season. The next place of work of the specialist was Dallas, in which Raff spent four years (2013 2017). After that, the Canadian retrained as an assistant head coach in the New York Rangers. Recall that during the season, Devils replaced two coaches, dismissing John Hines at the beginning of the season, and putting Nasreddin in his place. The club completed the regular season in 14th place in the Eastern Conference, gaining 68 points in 69 games.
