Kyrgyz Parliament approves lowering electoral threshold to 7%

Deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan in the third (final) reading by a majority vote approved the law on lowering the electoral threshold. This was reported by the press service of the legislative assembly of the republic. Now in the upcoming parliamentary elections, deputies will be able to become representatives of parties that have won at least 7% of the total number of votes that took part in the vote, and not 9%, as it was before. The news agency recalls that in 2010, the electoral threshold for elections to the republican parliament of Kyrgyzstan was 5% of the number of votes that took part in the vote. In 2015, it was raised to 7%, and in 2017 to 9%. See also: The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan rejected the bill on the electoral threshold of 5%
