In Belarus customs officers stopped illegal export of more than 20 thousand roses
Employees of the Grodno Customs Office stopped five attempts to illegally export flower products to the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, the press service of the Customs Authorities of Belarus reported on May 22. One such attempt was stopped at the Benyakoni crossing point. During the inspection of the vehicle of the Lithuanian carrier firm there were 13.5 thousand roses more than stated in the documents. Since the beginning of May this is the fifth fact revealed on this section of the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, the Ministry added. Similarly, with a difference of several days, four more vehicles with flowers (most rose colors) were inspected, travelling to the Russian Federation. During the inspection of vehicles of Russian carriers identified more than 10 thousand roses, not specified in the documents. The total cost of undeclared flower products amounted to more than 15.5 thousand b Belarusian rubles (463 thousand 900 Russian rubles). Administrative proceedings have been initiated against violators under article 14.5, paragraph 1, of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus. Sanctions of the article provide for a fine in the amount of up to 30% of the value of illegally moved goods without its confiscation, noted the customs department.
