EU to send partners more than €20 billion to fight coronavirus
The European Union is forming a 20 billion aid package for partner countries that are fighting coronavirus and the consequences of its spread, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrel announced at a news conference in Brussels on April 8. The aim is to help the most vulnerable countries, particularly in Africa, EU neighbours, and countries in Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, he said. The EU program was named Team Europe. According to Borrel, funds for its implementation will be found directly in the EU, from the member states of the association and their financial organizations, in particular, from the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
