In Italy coronavirus made adjustments to the schedule of matches in football

Three matches of the National Football Championship were cancelled due to the threat of coronavirus spread in Italy. On February 23, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte told journalists at a press conference, his words quoted the portal Football Italia. Conte specified that three matches of the championship of Italy in the top division which were to take place in regions Veneto and Lombardy on February 23 were cancelled. All matches have been postponed indefinitely due to the threat of coronavirus spread. Inter Sampdoria, Verona Cagliari and Atalanta Sassuolo matches have been cancelled. Before that, on February 22, 42 matches in amateur and youth leagues were cancelled in Italy. Earlier, the news agency reported an increase in the number of coronavirus infections in Italy over the past two days. The current number of cases is 79. In addition, two deaths due to pneumonia caused by coronavirus have already been recorded in the country. Outbreaks of the disease have been reported in 11 municipalities. The Government has developed a number of measures to prevent the spread of the disease. Ten cities are completely isolated in the Lombardy region, where the largest number of cases are noted. Mass events have been cancelled in the country and training and work activities have been restricted.
